Covid-19 FAQs

What safety measures do you have in place to protect your employees against Covid-19?

In line with the recommendations of public health experts and governing bodies, Ontario Plants has developed a comprehensive Covid-19 safety plan to minimize the risk of Covid-19 entering the workplace.

The covid-19 pandemic is an evolving situation and as such, we review and update our policies on a regular basis.

Specifically, we have increased the frequency of our sanitation and hygiene procedures, introduced physical distancing & mask wearing policies, added partitions and barriers to office spaces and production lines and implemented the use of health screening as a part of our daily routines.

Do you provide your employees with regular Covid-19 updates?

Yes, we provide our team with a weekly Covid-19 bulletin that includes updated information related to COVID-19 in the region and reminders to follow the OPPL Health & Safety plan.

What is your sick leave policy?

We encourage all staff to self-monitor and stay home when they are ill. Along with this, Ontario Plants has an employees’ assistance program for full-time employees experiencing symptoms or having to miss work as the result of a confirmed case of Covid-19 in the workplace.

What happens if there is a potential case of, or exposure to COVID-19 in the workplace?

Ontario Plants has a comprehensive screening plan that prevents symptomatic persons from entering the workplace. Should one of our employees present symptoms of Covid-19 we will follow the guidelines set by the local public health unit.
